Jenna Bollard ‘Shoes Off’ EP Review
by Jehad Choate Groove Staff Jenna Bollard Sat Behind Me In Harmony Class All Semester Where She Didn’t Say Much But Laughed At My Jokes On Occasion. I Had No Idea I Was Sharing A Class With Berklee’s Best-Kept Secret. Released July 30 Jenna’s Five Song EP “Shoes Off” Is A Bright Ray Of Sunshine On A Cloudy Day. For A Self-Proclaimed Folk Singer Her EP Has Enough Stylistic Variation To Keep A Guy With Musical ADD Such As Myself Consistently Engaged. There Are Elements Of Reggae Dance Hall And Rock And Jenna Is Backed By A Wide Array Of Genius Musicians. Her Lyrical Content Is Positive Descriptive And True To The Music It Represents. She Creates A Setting That Keeps The Listener Grounded And Appreciative Of The World They Live In. When I Listened To Her EP I Was Taken Aback By How Honest And Creative Every Aspect Of Her Songs Could Be. Just When The Listener Might Write Off A Climactic Point Of One Song There Would Be An Epic Key Change Or A Cleverly Placed Rest Making Every Song Unique And Exciting. “Shoes Off” Is A Journey With Jenna And Her Five Great Songs. Check Out Her Music At Www.Myspace.Com/jennabollard And Buy Her New EP At CD Baby.
