The Band Was Formed From An Idea Of The Guitarist/composer Of That Time And Then Producer Of Electronic Music And Tecno DJ REZ. And It's This Fusion Of Electronic Music And Heavy Metal That Shaped The Project. Rez Suggested The Idea To His Friend And Frontman Billy T Cooper Who Accepted Enthusiastically. They Decided To Include A Female Voice So Along Came Emy. Together They Started Work On Their First Two Songs. With The Arrival Of The Rhythm Section - Pora 'The King' On Drums And Klaus On Bass - The Line-Up Was Complete. Choosing A Name Came Next And The Band Became JTR Sickert - Acronym Of The 19th Century Painter Walter Richard Sickert Considered By The Criminalist Author Patricia Cornwell To Be The Real Jack The Ripper. Hence JTR. A Year After Its Formation The Band Recorded A 4-Track Demo At Fear Studios Entitled 'Everything Is Growing Old' - A Compilation That Was Well Received By Leading Heavy Metal Magazines And Webzines.
The Band Also Started Taking On Live Gigs Sharing The Stage With Renowned Italian Bands Such As The Family Godiva Macbeth And Well Known German Band Das Ich. They Took Part In Dark Fest Too As Opening Act For Dope Stars Inc. A Month Later They Opened At The Metal Legion Attack Sharing The Stage With Sadist Vision Divine Domine And Node. A Few Days After That They Played In Gaswerk In Switzerland Opening For Mephisto System.
Already The Stage Was Set For Their Future. In 2009 Came The Band’s First Album 'You Deserve Panic' Also Recorded At Fear Studios And Released By Independent Label Bagana Records/Edel. This Was Followed By The Video 'Crystal Night' A Promo Single From The Album. 'You Deserve Panic' Was Cited In The Media As The Best Album In 2009 Of Its Genre In The Underground Scene. It Was Also Exceptionally Well Received By European Magazines Sparking An Unexpected Following Of Fans. In 2011 And 2012 JTR Toured Together With Theatres Des Vampires During Their European Tour Visiting Germany Italy Slovenia Austria Hungary Turkey Czech Republic Slovakia And Bulgaria Gathering More Fans Along The Way. Thanks To The Collaboration With TDV Billy T Sang A Duet With Sonya Scarlet During Their Performance At The Viadana Open Air Festival 2011 With Swedish Band Dark Tranquillity And During Their Performance At Leipzig Gotik Treffen. At The Start Of The Year JTR Released Their New Video Oblivion From The Upcoming Album Etoile Featuring Sonya Scarlet. The Band Recently Went On A Mini Tour To Promote The New Single Playing Gigs In The Czech Republic Slovakia And Italy. The Band Has Just Finished Writing And Releasing New Songs For The New Album Etoile. Under New Management From Vagabond Co. - Jtr Sickert Are Back Kicking And Screaming.
