Kier Bates Has Been Immersed In Electronic Music For The Best Part Of A Decade. Originally Taught Brass And Woodwind Instruments At Ten He Moved On To Making Electronic Music On A PC "instant Music" Program In The Mid 90's At The Age Of Fourteen Where After Being Lauded By Peers For His Music Around This Time He Decided To Switch To Reason. After A Few Months Of Experimentation Kier Produced A Track Which Would Be A Seminal Work For The Community Eventually Bringing Kier And Another Artist Together To Work Under The Guise Of Outsource Later Virii - Now Defunct For An Immensely Productive And Successful Partnership Which Lasted Until Around 2004. In 2006 Kier Began Producing As A Solo Artist Again With Two New Albums Released On Last.Fm That Year Demonstrating His Versatility In The More Upbeat And Varied Tomorrow We Live And The Downtempo Dusk And Dawn. Following On From This Was The Release Of Two Distinct Albums Late On In 2007. The Downtempo And Experimental Bioluminescence Was Released In October Followed By Contact In December. 2008 Saw The Release Of Fractal A Third Return To More Downtempo Material In As Many Years As Well As What Was Originally To Be A Collection Of Remixed Material. However Kier Felt That A Majority Were Not Good Enough For Release And Replaced Them With Finished Versions Of Earlier Unreleased Works. This Album Became Removed And Features Three Remixes Of Earlier Work. Due To A Lack Of Ideas 2009 Has Seen Kier's Music Mostly On Hiatus Although An Album Is In The Works. Tentatively Titled "Driven By Greed And Corruption" It Will Feature Nine Breakbeat And Electronic Tracks In A Similar Vein To 2007's Contact. read less
