Artist Biography For Monocism

Hailing From Nara Prefecture Japan Monocism Formed In March 2005 After A Short Period Of Collaborations. They Are A Duo Consisting Of Producer And Composer Tomoya Matsuura 松浦友也 Vocals And Guitar And Guitar Teacher Yoshiaki Kitamura 北村嘉章 Guitar With Support Members Satoshi Kamiegawa 上江川 聡 AKA A.C.R.Kammy Drums And Goro Ouchi 大内悟郎 AKA Goro-Ohuchi Bass. Their Style Borrows Elements From Shoegaze Post-Rock Math Rock And Noise. Their Name Is A Made-Up Word Derived From The Japanese Word For "object" "mono". It Means "a Sudden Impulse To Express Artifacts And Scenery Through Music." Monocism's First Release Was An Eponymous Self-Released Mini Album Monocism Released On June 6th 2006 Their First One-Man Live. Its Follow-Up Release 初季 Ubuki Was A Mini-Album Published In September Of The Following Year. They Also Participated In Multiple Compilations They Covered The Sex Pistols' "Submission" In 2007 And Participated Twice In The Play For Japan Compilation Albums Vol.7 And 2012 Vol.9. Very Little Is Known About Their Recent Activities As Of Early 2015 They May Have Disbanded Silently. Their Last Known Work Was A Cover Of Portishead's Song Artist "Portishead" Pedestal /song For The Portishead Tribute Helping Hand -Tribute To Portishead In 2013.
