An Enchanting Duo. There’s Something That Keeps Nick And Liesl’s Fans Coming Back For More Year After Year Whether Near Or Far. It Is Without A Doubt The Unique Voices The Flowing Harmonies And The Captivating Songs But Also Something More. There Is A Natural Openness And A Subtle Optimism To Their Performance That Brings About The Sort Of Personal Connection That Leads To Long Distance Travel And Wedding Invitations. Their Distinctive Sound Is The Coming Together Of Two Singer/songwriters With Influences Ranging From Nick’s Love Of Cat Stevens And James Taylor To Liesl’s Classical Songbooks And The Local Folk Music Of Her Childhood Home Sweden. Although Only Two People The Pair Present A Sound That Fills Large Theatres And Small Village Churches Alike. Their Stories Are Many And Varied As Is Their Performance With Each Switching Between Instruments Along To The Ever-Present Stomp Box And Tambourine. After Forming While On Tour In Europe In Early 2007 Nick And Liesl First Gained Recognition As A Brilliant Live Act Performing At Festivals Throughout Australia Supporting Artists Such As Kate Miller-Heidke Harry Manx Kasey Chambers And Shane Nicholson As Well As Doing A Featured Performance At The ABC Awards In Newcastle That Same Year. In 2008 Nick And Liesl Launched Their Debut EP Wyong River. While Continuing With Their Success On The Australian Festival Circuit The EP Earned Them An ABC Award National Airplay On ABC And Triple J And An Inclusion On Home Grown Roots Vol 3 Along With Artists Paul Kelly And John Butler. They Have Been Touring Nationally With The EP Ever Since And After An Invitation To Popkomm 2009 In Berlin Nick And Liesl Set About Securing Their European Fan Base By Booking Their Third European Tour. The Most Extensive Tour To Date With Over 30 Shows Throughout Denmark Germany The Czech Republic The Netherlands France And Belgium Proved A Great Success And The Duo Are Now Back In The Country Working On Their Debut Album Due Out In 2010.
