Largely Formed From Graduates Of The Royal Academys Jazz Programme And Alumni Of The NYJO The Band Boast Members From Mathew Herbert Big Band And Mathew Bourns Electric Dr M Group. Playing A Majority Of The Composers Original Compositions The Group Also Pay Homage To Their Influences Which Range From Vintage British Jazz Compoitions By Graham Collier To The Searching Afro-American Sound Of Sun Ra. In 2006 Nostalgia 77 Octet Won The Jazz Album Of The Year At The Radio One Gilles Peterson Worldwide Awards.
