When Paul Chesterton First Heard Bluegrass Music Back In 2003 He Fell In Love With The Banjo. He Soon Had Purchased His First Banjo And Started Teaching Himself How To Play It. At A Local Bluegrass Festival He Learned The Clawhammer Style At A Workshop. After Spending The Past Couple Of Years Focusing More On That Style And Writing Songs Paul Put Together A Hard Driving Old Time String Band. Joined By Nick Kennedy On Guitar Frick Dau On Upright Bass And Nathanael Felon On Mandolin They Make Up The Old Tire Swingers. Influenced By The Appalachian String Bands As Well As Their Own Central California Country Roots They Play A Style That's Somewhere Between Old Time Bluegrass And Country. In The Spring Of 2011 The Old Tire Swingers Hit The Road For A Two Month US Tour. Energized By The Response They Had From People They Decided To Start Recording A Full Length CD When They Got Back Home. With That CD Released In October The Band Is Planning A UK Tour In Early 2012 Followed By Another US Tour. In A Typical Old Tire Swingers Set Listeners Will Hear Both Traditional And Original Songs. Although Much Of The Music The Band Plays Is Hard Driving Old Time Music Fans Of Bluegrass Country Acoustic Folk And Americana Are Sure To Find Something They Will Enjoy In The Songs.
