Artist Biography For Parade Of Lights
Parade Of Lights Are An Alt-Electro Band Based In Los Angeles. Comprised Of Core Members Ryan Daly And Anthony Improgo The Group Combines Equal Parts Rock New Wave And Shoegaze To Create A Unique Blend Of 80's Influenced Pop Drawing On Inspiration From Artists Like U2 Depeche Mode M83 And Even Madonna. Shortly After Meeting In 2006 Daly And Improgo Formed The Band Polus. After Releasing A Four-Song EP Entitled "Wish" And Garnering A Significant Buzz In The L.A. Area Polus Was Put On Hiatus Due To Considerable Demand For Both Daly And Improgo As Touring Musicians. Even With Their Rigorous Touring Schedules The Two Managed To Keep Their Friendship Intact And Exchanged Song Ideas Via Email Until 2010 When They Decided To Officially Reunite As Parade Of Lights. They Spent That Year And 2011 Releasing New Music And Playing Shows In Southern California Utah And Nevada Opening For Artists Like Imagine Dragons Marcy Playground Light FM Rooney Stamps And Ringside Among Others. Recent Music Film And TV Placements Have Gained The Band Considerable Attention From Music And TV Insiders Not To Mention A Legitimate Core Group Of Dedicated Fans. The Exposure Along With POL's Hook-Laden Songs And Entertaining Live Show Led To A Publishing Deal December 2011 With Imagem Music. “Feeling Electric” Is An Upbeat Romantic Track Celebrating The Feeling Of That First ‘spark’ That Develops Into An Undying Love. The Second Track Of The Group’s Debut Album Of The Same Name Is The Band’s Most Famous Song Due To It Being Included On The FIFA 16 Soundtrack Alongside Artists Like Bastille And Disclosure. ”“Feeling Electric” Was Actually One Of The First Song Ideas We Had Floating Around For The Record But One Of The Last To Be Focused On During The Recording Process. It Sounded Completely Different In Its Demo Form And Didn’t Start To Take Shape Until We Had Found The Sound That Informed The Production Of The Record After About A Month Of Experimenting. The Majority Of Our Music Has An Optimistic Overtone And This Song Is A Prime Example Of How We Shed A Positive Light On Uncertainty. At Its Core “Feeling Electric” Is A Song About Love And Longing As Are Many Of Our Songs. But If You Go A Bit Deeper It’s About Finding That Person That Draws You In Keeps You Enthralled And The Feeling You Get Every Time You’re Together. That Being Said The Lyrics Were Left Vague Enough So The Listener Doesn’t Have To Connect To A Direct Narrative And Can Take Away Whatever Message They See Fit From The Song Upon First Listen. “Feeling Electric” is an upbeat romantic track celebrating the feeling of that first ‘spark’ that develops into an undying love. The second track of the group’s debut album of the same name is the band’s most famous song, due to it being included on the FIFA 16 Soundtrack, alongside artists like Bastille and Disclosure.
”“Feeling Electric” was actually one of the first song ideas we had floating around for the record, but one of the last to be focused on during the recording process. It sounded completely different in its demo form, and didn’t start to take shape until we had found the sound that informed the production of the record after about a month of experimenting. The majority of our music has an optimistic overtone, and this song is a prime example of how we shed a positive light on uncertainty. At its core, “Feeling Electric” is a song about love and longing, as are many of our songs. But if you go a bit deeper, it’s about finding that person that draws you in, keeps you enthralled, and the feeling you get every time you’re together. That being said, the lyrics were left vague enough so the listener doesn’t have to connect to a direct narrative, and can take away whatever message they see fit from the song upon first listen. At the end of the recording process, the subject matter of “Feeling Electric” felt like it encompassed the overall theme of the record itself, and ended up becoming the title of the album.”
