Artist Biography For Paul Lenart

One Of Sonoton's Most Prolific Composers Paul Lenart Has Truly Defined The Guitar Sound Of Blues Folk Country Jazz Funk And Soul On The Sonoton Label. Paul Lenart Has Been Playing The Guitar Professionally For Over 35 Years. Born In Pittsburgh PA He Spent His Teen Years Learning And Performing Balkan Music With The Duquesne University Tamburitzan Orchestra. He Taught Himself Guitar While Attending Columbia University And Started Performing In New York City. In The Late 1960s His First Recorded Band The Far Cry Vanguard Apostolic Records Was Part Of The Bosstown Sound From Boston. He Then Toured Europe With The American Folk Blues Festival As A Member Of T-Bone Walker And Big Mama Thornton's Band Along With Legends Memphis Slim Big Joe Williams And Robert Pete Williams. While Living In Hollywood He Appeared On Keith Moon's The Who Solo Album "Two Sides Of The Moon". In The '70s He Was A Member Of The James Montgomery Band And Recorded With Them At Alan Toussaint's Sea-Saint Studios In New Orleans. Paul Is Still Active In The Boston Area As A Guitarist Session Player And Producer. Over The Last Sixteen Years Paul Has Been Writing And Producing For The SONOTON Music Library Collaborating With Such Luminous Writers As Billy Novick And Larry Luddecke. His Music Has Appeared On Such Shows As The American Experience Friends The Oprah Winfrey Show And Sex & The City As Well As Numerous Commercials Films And Productions.
