There Are Two Bands Which Go By The Name Pondus. The First Is A Progressive Rock Band From Sweden In The Late Seventies. More Recently A Trio From Iceland Uses The Name Pondus. Sweden
A Progressive Rock Whose Sound Incorporated Elements Of Jazz Fusion. They Were Active In The Late Seventies And Their Membership Consisted Of Andreas Vera Oritz On Keyboard Flute And Percussion Cliff Sjursvens On Bass Ole Bäck On Guitar Vocals And Percussion And Thomas Boberg On Drums And Percussion. Released Myronrnas Frammarsch In 1979 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Icelandic Trio Pondus Consisting Drums Bass And Guitars Play An Absolute Chanting Minimalistic Pop Mixture With Elements Of Dub And Jazz. Having Played With Such Diverse Artists As Kylie Minogue Sigur Ros Morten Harket And Written Songs To Marc Almond This Is The Debut Release To Petur Hallgrimsson And His New Trio. The Music Is Instrumental Suggestive And Without Comparison. Call It Film Noir Or "tubular Bells" Blended With Some Smooth Dub Bass And Dreamy Guitars.
