Artist Biography For Rysk
Born On The Sunny Beaches Of Point Judith Rhode Island And Raised In The Energy-Infused Clubs Of Providence Rysk Is Undeniably A Unique Band With Many Influences. As Of Summer 2010 Rysk Is The Solo Project Of Its Founding Member Alec Petros But Its Sound Has Been Heavily Shaped By The Many Members It's Had. The Band Has Been Strongly Influenced By Many Genres - From Dimmu Borgir To Owl City Word Alive To Basshunter. Rysk Features Fast And Heavy Guitars With A Strong Melodic Element And Intricate Synthesized Work. Rysk Came To Life When Alec Petros Kyle Seidenberg And Mike White Joined Forces On Vocals Guitar And Drums Respectively. After Jamming For A While They Brought On Dennis Wu On Synthesizers And Started Playing Small Shows. Dennis Quit To Focus On His Schoolwork And Was Replaced By Liana Borts On Synth And Ian Sutcliffe On Bass. After About A Year The Band Was Gaining A Small Following But Frontman Alec's Vision Wasn't Cohesive With Guitarist Kyle's So They Went Their Separate Ways. For About Three Months Alec Kept Trying Out New Band Members Until Finally Guitarist Sam Jedrey Drummer Will Walker Bassist Danny Waterman And Former Synth Player Dennis Wu Joined Up And Hit The Ground Running. The New Iteration Of Rysk Released Its First Single Echoes A Slightly Slower Hard-Rock-Influenced Song Followed By Shatter Its Harder Faster And Heavier Sibling. They Took These Two Songs To Clubs Around The State Along With A Solid Repertoire Of Covers. Before The Band Broke Up The Band Finished One More Song - Rewind - And Played It At Their Finale Show. In August 2010 Rysk Disbanded. With Two Of Its Members Going To College One Of Them Overseas It Wasn't Logical. However Alec Hung On To The Name And Released Crush Rysk's Heaviest Song Yet Declaring Himself A Solo Artist. Late September 2010 Alec Re-Recorded And Refined Echoes And Shatter To Compose Rysk's First EP Undead Orchestra. The Rest Of This Story Remains To Be Written. ~INFLUENCES~
