Second Day Venom Is A Neo-Psychedelic Shoegaze Band Formed In August 2010 By Guitarist/producer Frank Butkus The Freeways Desolation Bells And Kasia Karbowska Singer/flutist In Cambridge MA USA. Beautifully Raw And Subtly Obscure Sounds Manifest In The Creation Captivating Rich And Ghostly Songs. Droney Tones Complement Kasia Karbowska’s Sweetly Dark Vocalism. “It Is Like An Ascending Spiral... You Have The Distinct Feeling Of Going Up And Wonder Where The Song Is Going To Take You Yet You Find All Cares Peeling Away Layer By Layer Until You No Longer Care Where You Are Going - You LET GO...”. The Songs Drift Away To Progress Into Unexpected Soundscapes. Second Day Venom Was Discovered On MySpace By Jinsen Liu Of 28 Degrees Taurus In October 2010 And Was The Opener Of His Deep Heaven Now II Ambient/Psych Festival In November Of That Year. This Marked The Release Of Second Day Venom’s First CD EP Serpent Flower .The Day Of The Festival WZBC's Gavin From Mass Ave And Beyond Streamed The 20 Minute “opus” Of "Feel Your Body" From Myspace Which Prompted Several WZBC's Dj’s To Show Up Early To See The Band Perform. The Follow Up CD EP Mandragora Was Released January 2011. The Full Length CD LP "Breathe" Which Is Set To Be Released In April 2011 Featuring Hypnogogic Songs Each One A Delightfully Unpredictable Blend Of Tantalizing Lyricisms Intertwined Within A Prism Of Exalted Sound Waves. It Layers Hammond Organ Piano Synthesizer 12 String Acoustic Xylophone African Percussion Fuzz Bass Extended Jams Unexpected Distortion And Heavy Vocal Effects. Singer Kasia Karbowska Who Grew Up In Poland And Lived In A Few European Countries Before Coming To America Unveils Her Passion For Word In Experimenting With Her Lyrics In Foreign Languages French Polish German Spanish English Frequently Influenced By Literary Works. “Flet Z Mandragory" Is A Tribute To Kasia's Favourite Polish Literary Masterpiece "Das Schloss Castle" Also From The Second EP “Mandragora” Is A Song Inspired By A Dark And Surreal Story By Franz Kafka Published Unfinished 1926 After His Death. Another Song From The Same EP "Do Not Stand" Is A Postcard Version Of A Poem Written In 1932 By Mary Elizabeth Fyre Which Kasia Found On The Funeral Service Card At Frank’s Deceased Relative. Most Of The Tracks From The Releases Have Music Videos With Dreamy Lighting Effects And Super 8 Film Ambience. The Visual Psychedelic Trip Is A Backdrop For Second Day Venom’s Live Shows Which Feature 1960’s Projection Techniques.
