Smaller Were A Band Of Lads From Liverpool Led By Songwriter Peter "Digsy" Deary. They Were Friends With Oasis And Often Supported Them On Tour. Digsy Was Commemorated In Song By Noel Gallagher With The Oasis Song Digsy's Dinner And Noel Is Credited With Additional Guitar On Smaller's 1996 Debut Album Badly Badly And Single Is. Their Sound Was Quite Similar To Oasis Circa Definitely Maybe But In Contrast To The Gallaghers' Expansive Escapist Songwriting Smaller Detailed The Reality Of Life On The Dole In A Northern City With A Typically Dry Scouse Wit And Self-Deprecation. The Line-Up Was Peter Deary - Vocals / Guitar

According To Digsy's Myspace Smaller Recorded A Second Album Shoulder Full Of Chips Which Was Shelved When The Record Company Folded. However This Album Is Now Finally Scheduled For Release In 2009 Along With A Reissue Of Badly Badly. Meanwhile Digsy Has Been Active With His New Band The Sums.
