Statedlife Matt Guilbeau Has Been Creating Musical Soundscapes For Quite A While. His Creations Began In His Early Teens When He Composed Some Of His Earliest Musical Arrangements For His Middle School Band. Later In High School He Performed With His Synthesizer In The Talent Show.
After Getting Involved In The Rave/dance Culture In The Early Nineties He Gained Notoriety For His Dj Sets At Some Premier Raves Clubs And House Parties In Sacramento And The Bay Area. During This Stage In His Life Matthew Had A Dream One Night In Which He Was Inside A Futuristic Music/record Store Browsing Different Titles From The Shelves. He Selected A Cd With The Word "Statedlife" On The Cover With A Background Image Photographed From Outer Space Of The Earth And The Atmospheric Glow Coming Up From Behind It. He Took This As A Sign A Sort Of "message" That THIS Was His Purpose In Life Bringing Us To What He's Up To Now. He's Following That Dream And Creating Some Of The Most Moving And Beautiful Pieces Of Ambient Electronica You'll Probably Hear This Year. Statedlifes Influences Dip Into Several Different Genres And Eras Of Electronic And Indie Music With A Classical Undertone Which Holds The Arrangements Together And Takes The Listener On A Calming Etheral Trip Of Subconcious Emotions. Each Track Seems To Leave The Listener Feeling Better Than Before Cleansed And Optimistic. His Music Allows The Listener To Reflect Upon Their Own Life Their Own Emotions.
