Artist Biography For Testrauschen

Testrauschen Was Founded In May 2002 When Enzo Cage And Karsten Koch Recorded Their First Improvisation Session "The Fermi Paradox". Having Spent Almost 10 Years Composing Tracker Music On Home Computers They Soon Realized The Antipodal Quality Of Improvised Music And The Deep Expressional Capabilities Of Analogue Synthesizers From The 70s. Their Music Could Be Best Described As Painting With Sounds. Synthesizer Spheres Open Up Sonic Landscapes Upon Wich Vocoder Voices And Beautiful Melodies Are Layered. Although This Sounds Rather Simple It Is Hard To Find Anything Comparable In The History Of Electronic Music. Maybe This Is Because Of The Deep Organic Flow That Results From Testrauschens Purely Improvisational Approach "We Work Always The Same Way. We Just Sit Down And Play. Preparations Are Kept On A Minimum Level." That Also Means That There Is Just One Take And One Recording. Everything Starts With Pressing The Record Button And Whatever Then Happens Is The Piece. No Second Try. The Musical Background Of Enzo And Karsten Is Almost The Same. "We Both Were Influenced By The First Home Computers The Commodore C64 And The Amiga. There Was A Whole Scene With People Coming From All Over The World. Creativity Was Highly Valued And People Were Sharing Their Music For Free. That Time Certainly Left Its Mark On Us." In 2004 Enzo And Karsten Joined Forces With Munich Ambient Artist Max Glück And Started An Open Platform For Improvised Ambient Music Called The "Spheric Lounge". With Regular Events And Ambient Festivals The Spheric Lounge Has Become A Unique Part Of The Munich Music Scene Featuring More Than 20 Active Artists.
