There Are At Least Two Bands With The Same Name 1 The Elks Were A Short-Lived Virginia Beach Punk Band That Played In Various Forms Over Several Years Starting In 2000. After An Initial Shuffling Of Members The Group Quickly Left Behind A Grittier Punk Sound To Incorporate More Elements Of Metal And Hardcore. Although The Group Was Geographically Scattered Within A Few Years Various Members Often Wrote New Material And Even Performed A Few Shows When All Together.
