Artist Biography For The Quiet Awakening

“The Quiet Awakening” Are An English Folk Rock Band From Essex / East London. Formed In 2006 They Are Alana Laing Lead Vocals Rhythm Guitar Flute French Horn Percussion And Dom Russell Lead Guitar Backing Vocals Piano Harmonica Saxophone . The Pair Met At School Where They Were Both Music Students And On The Basis Of Friendship And A Common Interest In Music Were Firstly Involved In A Local Band “Epidemic” And Laterly Played Together As A Duo. Their First Album “Satellite Thoughts” Was Released On Orange House Music In November 2007 And Reflects Their New Folk And Alt Country Influences That Range From “Bright Eyes” “Its Too Late” To “The Coral” “The Line” . Writing Credits Are Shared Equally Between The Two Members. The Album Is Mainly A Guitar Based Recording Characterised By Melodic Clear Picking “What Are All The Crowds About” And Rich Vocal Harmonies And Interplays “For A Day” Although The Palette Varies With The Inclusion Of Flute “Final Harmony” And French Horn And Piano “Stand To Hear You” . In December 2007 They Played Sessons On The Link Fm Folk Music Programme Hosted By Claudine Le Moul As Well As At The FAB Club. In February 2008 After Getting Through The Heats They Played The "Brentwoods Got Talent" Final On 29th February 2008 At The Brentwood Theatre. In June 2008 They Accepted A Permanent Sunday Night Slot "Open My Eyes" On Link Fm 92.2 / Linkfm.Net At 8.30pm Where They Play Their Favourite Tracks And Also Perform A Weekly Live Session.
