Artist Biography For Thebrothers

There Comes A Time In Every Boy's Life When He Has To Decide What He Wants To Be A Football Champion Or A Rock Star. There Could Only Be One Way For Brothers Andres Coco Tilo And Lorenz. By The Time They Were Ten They Were Already Used To Being On Stage And Not Much Later While The Other Lads Were Trying To Impress The Girls The Buchholz Brothers Fell In Love With Their Guitars. The Odd Night In Jail Being Dowsed By The Occasional Bucket Of Cold Water And Other Normally Successful Deterrents Miserably Failed To Stop The Brothers Doing Their Thing Which Was For Many Years Playing On The Streets Of Europe's Cities As The "Rinnstein- Raben" Engl. "Guttersnipes" . Their Success As Buskers And The Astounding Number Of Cassettes They Sold On The Street Eventually Persuaded Them To Shelve Their Studies And Turn Professional. The Change Of Their Group Name To "The Brothers" Coincided With The Appearance Of Their 1st CD-Album "Way To Freedom" In 1992. From Then On It Was Life On The Road Playing 120 Concerts A Year In Clubs Halls And Festivals Including Montreux And Freiburg's International Tent Festival. Their 2nd CD "Winter Has Gone" 1994 Got A Lot Of Airplay And SWF One Of Germany's Largest TV And Radio Stations Produced A Video Clip Of Their Song "Little Black Princess". Although Extensive Radio And TV Work With Other National German Stations Such As SAT1 ZDF And ARD Helped Increase The Group's Popularity They Still Far Prefer Live Gigs Playing For Real Audiences. About 16 000 Fans Have So Far Put Down Their Names On The Bands' Mailing Lists In Order To Get Informed About New Releases Radio Or TV-Dates As Well As Forthcoming Concerts Of "The Brothers". By The Help Of This System And Because Of The Direct Contact To Their Audience During The Busking Apperances In The Street The Band Do Their Bit To The Fact That No Promoter Should Fear An Empty Hall Or Club. The Brothers Have Sold Over 15 000 CDs And MCs At Concerts Alone. In July ’95 Thomas Klauer Took Over The Bassplayers’ Part Since The Eldest Brother Andres Decided To Leave The Band. After 17 Years Of Making Music With His Three Brothers His Growing Urge To Play More Jazz Got The Better Of Him. A New Record Was Produced Again By Eroc Who Had Already Taped Both Of "The Brothers’" First CDs. The EP "Short" Is Being Played A Lot On Some Radio-Stations After Release. Six Months Later After A Composing Session In Southern France "The Brothers" Al- Ready Have Enough New And Attractive Material To Start With The Next Production. Early 1997 Sees The Recording Of The New Longplayer "Bluu Tambourine" This Time Produced By Oli Noack.
