Artist Biography For Transcendental Desecration
Transcendental Desecration Was Originally Founded By Lord Gwydyon Aka Gideon Trillian GroundZero Gridlok And Kevin Neher Aka KevCo In 1991 In Santa Cruz CA. In The Beginning The Band Was An Experimental Improv-Performance Project That Tended Toward The Extremely Psychedelic In Concept And Flavor. It Often Had An Open Door Line-Up Policy With Regards To Jam And Recording Sessions Similar To Bands Such As Pigface . Between 1991 And 1996 TD Recorded 212 Full Albums/jam Sessions And Independently Hand-Published And Released At Least 50 Of Those To Local And San Francisco Bay Area Fans And Friends. Around 1996 KevCo Quit The Band Which Then Went On A Hiatus Due To The Usual Suspects Of Stereotypical "rock-N-Roll" Dramas. In 1998 Gridlok Met Maggy Mjolnir At A The Legendary Pink Dots Show Who Essentially Demanded To Join The Band To Play Bass Synths Or Whatever After Having Acquired A Transcendental Desecration Bootleg Cassette From A Friend Of A Friend Of A Friend. She Was Enthusiastically Inducted Into The Band But The Band Did Not Officially Resume Music Production Until About 2000. Transcendental Desecration Now Relocated In San Diego CA Eventually Picked Up Where It Left Off With An All New Studio And All New Equipment And Tools. This New Incarnation Of TD Also Had A New Approach And Greater Level Of Sophistication Than Before. By 2004 TD Was Officially A Duo Consisting Only Of Gridlok And Mjolnir And No Longer Included Other Guest Musicians Or Performers Although They Are All Still Part Of TD's Secret Fan-Club . Since 2001 And Especially Since 2004 Transcendental Desecration Perform Fan-Club-Only/invite-Only Live Jams Which Are Almost Entirely Improvisational And Always Held At One Of Several Secret Wilderness Locations Only Known To These Invitees Who Call Themselves Captain Gerrald Zixel's Starship Crew. These Locations Are Always At An Isolated Ocean Beach Desert Area Or Sometimes In A Forest. These Live Jams Are Always Recorded And Often The Recordings Make It To CD's And Other Album Formats For Either Wide Or Special Limited Distribution. Transcendental Desecration Is Currently In The Process Of Reissuing All Of Their Older Recordings Including All Special Limited Edition Releases And Making Them Available As Fully Public CD's And .Mp3 Downloads Which Can Be Purchased By The General Public For The First Time.
