Turlu Tursu Is Folk Band From Belgium. - They Draw From A Very Wide Range Of Musical Genres And Styles Combining Accordeon Traditions From All Over The World With Drum'n'bass Dub Klezmer Etc...
High-Spirited And Festively Turlu Tursu Offers A Subtle Mix Of Highly Sophisticated Arrangements And Unrestrained Improvisations. Group Members Fabian Beghin Accordion Flute Vocals Was Introduced To Music When He Learned How To Use Keyboards. Later He Learned How To Play The Irish Flute And The Accordion In Scotland. He Was Then Introduced In Varanasi India To The Bansuri Indian Bamboo Flute And To The Art Of The Ragas Indian Classical Musical System Into Which Has Made His Way Deeper And Deeper Under The Supervision Of Partha Bose Sitar Master.
This Passion For Oriental Music Can Be Found In The Way He Plays Accordion On The Level Of The Played Modes As Well As On The Level Of The Ornaments. Moreover He Has Gained Quite A Vast And Deep Knowledge As Far As The Numerous Traditions Of The Accordion All Over The World Are Concerned. Etienne Plumer Drums And Percussion Was Born In Seoul South Korea And Was Raised In Belgium. First Of All He Learned How To Play The Trumpet In The Bastogne Academy. Then He Worked His Way Up Self-Taught Drummer And Percussionist. He Attended To Master Classes With Antoine Cirri And Mimi Verderamme And Was Thought In The Conservatoire Royal De Musique De Liège By Such Masters As Garett List Free Improvisation Michel Massot Chamber Rock He Also Interested In The Electronic Music.
He Has Written A Piece Of Electro-Acoustic Music In The Centre De Recherche Et De Formation Musicale De Wallonie Liege And Practices The Tablas Indian Percussion . Nicolas Dechêne Bass Studied In The Conservatoire Royal De Liege And Got The First Prize For Classical Guitar And The Same For Methodology Of Guitar. At The Same Time He Gets Introduced To Jazz And Regularly Visits Classrooms Of The Conservatoire De Musique De Liege Where He Learns The Art Of Improvisation And Chamber Rock.
Since 1994 Nicolas Has Been A Guitar Teacher In A Music Academy And As A Guitarist And A Bass Player Has Collaborated With Very Diverse Music Bands Playing All Kinds Of Music Jazz Contemporary Music French Song Traditional Music Etc. .
