Born Turner Van Pelt Kniffin In December 22 1980 Turner Cody Grew Up In Boston Before Moving To New York City In 1999 At The Age Of 18. Since He Left His Hometown For New York He Has Recorded And Self-Released No Less Than 8 Albums. Official Releases Started In 2007 With A Compilation From Those Early Recordings Entitled "60 Seasons" And UK Re-Issue Of "Quarter Century" Followed Up By "First Light" 2008 BB*Island/Boy Scout . The Same Year Turner Cody Set Up Recording Sessions In Paris And New York For An Album Entitled "Gangbusters" Due To Release In 2010.. Tuner Cody Began His Career At The Fabled Sidewalk Cafe. He Has Toured Europe With Ish Marquez And As The Opener/bass Player For Herman Dune With Whom He Has Worked Closely Since 2003. You Can See Cody Most Recently In The Guise Of The Folk Icon Of The Time In Jeffrey Lewis' Williamsburg Will Oldham Horrour Music Video. When He Is Not Writing And Recording Cody Dances To Klezmer Music At Williamsburg's Hassid Meets Hipster Which He Helped Found In 2004 And Spins Records With Adam Green In East Village. As A Singer/songwriter He Follows The Paths Of Woody Guthrie Bob Dylan Or Daniel Johnston.
