Ultra-Violent Were Formed In January '82 In Hebden Bridge Just Outside Halifax Releasing One Single For Riot City Records 'Crime For Revenge'. Ultra Violent Were Guitarist Andrew 'Grif' Griffiths Vocalist Adrian 'Adie' Bailey Bassist Simon Duffy Duf And His Brother Jared Duffy Jaz The Drummer. The First Ultra Violent Demo Was A Very Basic Affair Recorded In Halifax During April '82. It Failed To Generate Any Interest From Labels. However The Band Played Many Shows Around West Yorkshire That Summer And Developed Into A Frighteningly Powerful And Focused Act. This Impressive Evolution Was Showcased To Perfection With The Storming Recording Ultra Violent Made At Rochdale's Cargo Studios During November 1982.
