Mai Fukui ふくい舞 Previously 福井舞 Born December 17 1984 Is A Singer From Kyoto Japan. Her Interest In Music Began When She Was In Middle School When Her Brother Introduced Her To The Band Hanson Which Inspired Her To Learn To Play Drums. In College She Joined A Music Club And Took Up Singing. She Also Began To Write Music During This Time. Eventually She Dropped Out Of College To Pursue A Career In Music And Joined The Kyoto-Based Band POPLAR As The Vocalist In 2004. After Releasing Two Albums She Left POPLAR In 2006 To Pursue A Solo Career. In October 2007 She Distributed A Demo Tape Which Caught The Attention Of Avex And Her Current Management Agency. She Moved To Tokyo In February 2008 And Three Months Later TBS Offered Her The Chance To Sing The Theme Song For The Highly Anticipated TV Drama “Koizora". The Song A Ballad Titled “Ai No Uta” アイのうた Became Her Debut Single Released In August 2008. She Became Widely Known From This And Released Two Albums And Three Singles Over The Next 2 1/2 Years. On January 1 2011 She Changed Her Stage Name To ふくい舞. Her Most Recent Single Going My Way ゴーイングマイウェイ Was Released In August 2014.
