Einar Stenseng

Born In 1982 In Oslo The Capitol Of Norway Einar Stenseng Was Brought Up By Ex-Hippie Parents In A House By The Oslo Fjord. He Began Playing The Drums At The Tender Age Of Seven But Moved On To Guitar A Couple Of Years After And Piano Some Years After That. Hearing The Opening Chords Of The Velvet Underground's "Sweet Jane" At The Age Of Thirteen His Life Was Saved By Rock 'n' Roll And He Formed Several Short-Lived Band Projects During His Teens. He Dropped Out Of School At The Age Of Seventeen To Fully Indulge In His Musical And Literary Interests. Einar Took A Trip To Berlin In 2003 And Ended Up Staying There For More Than Three Years. Enjoying The Cheap Rent And Alcohol Of The German Capitol He Became A Well-Known Figure In Berlin's Underground Music Scene. Recording His Debut Album At Berlin's Claustrophobia Sound Studio In The Spring Of 2005 He Was Supported By A Cast Of Mainly Berlin Based Musicians. Among These Were But One German Jochen Arbeit Of Einstürzende Neubauten/Die Haut Fame Which Is Telling Of Berlin's International Artist Scene. All World Continents Are Represented Among Stenseng's Musical Collaborators On The Album. The Musical Relationship Between Einar And British Rock Legend Nikki Sudden Swell Maps Jacobites Started In 2004 When They Bumped Into Each Other At Their Favourite Berlin Watering Hole. Nikki Is Heard Playing Guitar On Einar's Debut Album As Well As Helping Out With Arrangements And Production. Einar Returned The Favour By Playing Organ Guitar And Piano On Nikki's Posthumous Album The Truth Doesn't Matter As Well As Appearing With Him On Various Other Occasions. Sadly Nikki Passed Away In March 2006. Einar's Debut Album Was Released In Norway In September 2006 To An Extremely Favourable Reception From Critics. Norwegian Critics Compared Einar To Rock 'n' Roll Greats Such As John Cale Nick Cave Bob Dylan Lou Reed And Tom Waits And He Was Hailed As A Great Song Writing Talent. In The Autumn Of 2006 Einar Toured Norway Germany And Austria Partly Together With His Fellow Norwegian Al DeLoner Midnight Choir . Einar Was One Of Six Singer/songwriters Portrayed In The Documentary BerlinSong Directed By Acclaimed German Filmmaker Uli M. Schüppel The Road To God Knows Where Der Platz . The Movie Was Selected For And Shown At The Berlinale Film Festival In February 2007. Einar Now Lives In Oslo And Is Working On A New Album. Alcohol Is Very Expensive And He Is Always Broke. read less
