Frans' Interest In Music Came Relatively Late At Age 16. When A Friend Played Jaco Pastorius For Him He Got Hooked To The Electric Bass. After Just Two Years Of Fierce Woodshedding He Was Atmitted To The Conservatory. Graduated Masters Degree With Honours In 1996 He Co-Founded "Wash And Go" A Traditional Cool-Jazz Trio Featuring NY Guitarist Hendrik Helmer. This Trio Recorded Two CD's "Traditional Young Jazz" And "JJ" Featuring Hammondplayer John Hondorp. Also Played In The "Nippy Noya Quartet" During This Period. Since Then Gained A Lot Of Live Experience With "The Frontline Showband" A Nine-Piece Coverband With Hornsection. This Band Backed Up A Lot Of Dutch Artists During Their Tours. Co-Founded "Roto-Motion" In 2001 A Soulful And Funky Hammondtrio Featuring Hammondplayer "John Hondorp. In 2003 Frans Started Working With Drummer Sebastiaan Cornelissen On An "Acid-Jazz" Project. This Cooperation Eventually Resulted In The Founding Of The "Cornelissen-Van Bavel-Vollink" Trio With Pianist Rob Van Bavel. When Guitarplayer Richard Hallebeek Joined The Quartet Was Renamed "One Spirit" After A Composition With The Same Name. This Quartet Recorded The CD "One Spirit" During 2004 Featuring Wonderful Guest Soloists Around The Globe Like Gerard Precenser Susan Weinert Randy Brecker Martin Verdonk And Lale Larson. This CD Was Released In December 2005. In May/june 2006 Toured With USA Guitarplayer Wayne Johnson. Currently Working On The Follow-Up Release Of "One Spirit" Together With Bas Cornelissen Rob Van Bavel And Richard Hallebeek And Again A Variety Of International Guests.
