Ragnhild Furebotten

Ragnhild Furebotten Is An Interpreter And Communicator Of The Folk Music Of Northern Norway And Is One Of Few Folk Musicians From This Part Of The Country. She Is Well Known As A Musician Composer And Performing Fiddler First And Foremost As A Member Of The Group Majorstuen. Ragnhild Finished Her Education At The Norwegian Music Academy In 2004 And Has Since Then Been Working As A District Musician In Målselv And As A Freelance Musician Both In Norway And Abroad. As Well As Performing Solo She Works Extensively In Several Groups Such As Majorstuen Fotefar Hekla Stålstrenga And With The Guitar Player Tore Bruvoll. She Has Also Enjoyed Collaborations With Dancers And Storytellers And In August 2007 She Was Composer For A Dance Performance At The Festival Kalottspel. Ragnhild Was Awarded The Price “Spelemannsprisen” Together With The Group “Majorstuen” For Best Folk Music Album 2003 Chosen As “Young Artist” At The “Festspillene I Nord- Norge” The Summer Of 2006 And In The Autumn Of 2006 She Was Awarded The “Arvid Hansen” Scholarship For Young Artists.
