Artist Biography For The Reptilians

There Are At Least 2 Artists With The Name The Reptilians 1 A Stoner Rock Band From Burley Idaho USA And 2 A Hardcore Punk Band From Perth Western Australia Australia 1 From Mutantcolors @ StonerRock.Com Strange Situations Can Lead To Great Things. Take The Example Of The Reptilians. Based Jointly Out Of The Idahoan SLC Suburb Known As Pocatello And The Desperate Agricultural Community Of Burley Idaho The Reptilians Are Faced With A Few Less-Than-Usual Circumstances. To Start There Is Essentially No Music Scene Around Them. Collectively The Members Of The Reptilians Have Accounted For A Significant Portion Of What Local Scene There Has Been In The Last Ten Years. Add To That A Significant Density Of Highly Religious Locals Geographical Isolation Ready Access To Various Drugs And You Have One Curious Stew Brewing. Masterminded By A Sharp Witted Anti-Philosopher With A Penchant For Spewing Forth Bullet Proof Rants Against The World The Reptilians Have Been Growing Like Mold Under Your Floorboards For Nearly A Decade. Unnoticed By The General Public Around Them And Thin On Outside Influence They Have Been Able To Craft A 26 Minute Opus Of Thoughtful Well Planned Sonically Intriguing Catchy At Times Intentionally Confounding Music. A Metallic Yet Dreamy Journey Unlike Any Other With No Comparison Readily Drawn. That Journey Is Called “The Mentalist.” “The Mentalist” Is Not Normal. It Is Not Easy Listening But It Is Cleverly Disguised As Easy-To-Listen-To. While It Offers To Stretch Your Mind Into Uncharted Territory With One Hand It Punches You In The Throat With The Other. Approaching A Half Hour You Might Expect A 12 Minute Wind Howling Guitar Feedback Intro Something You Won’t Find. What Can Be Found Is A Band Getting To Business Laying Out Chapter After Chapter In An Unfolding Story Of Riffs Rhythms Shape Shifter Vocals One Liners Ripping Solos And Enough Weird Shit To Make You Suspicious Your Coffee Has Been Laced. To Put The Final Polish On All This They Went And Procured Some Exceptional Production Unleashing The Full Fury Of Steve “Jesus’” Uncanny Drum Prowess Saddled Up To Crushing And Crisp Guitar Tones Layered On Lava Thick Bass. “The Mentalist” Has No Genre. Is It Rock? Is It Metal? Is It Prog? Well….No... It Has Similarities. "The Mentalist” Is Quite Simply The Reptilians. And In My Book It Is Simply An Amazing Release Which Can Be Enjoyed By The Snobbiest Of Music Snobs And The Most Casual Of Listeners Alike.
