Waked Lunch Is ROSEMARY… Waked Lunch Is The Side-Project Of Rosemary Haskins. Born From The Ventromedial Frontal Cortex Of The Brain Waked Lunch Is An Experimental Project That Utilizes Atmospheric Sounds Samplers Strings And Other More Common Instruments Such As Drums Guitar And Synths. Inspired By William Burroughs And Angelo Badalamenti The Music Is Dark And Melancholy Though Somewhat Frenzied And Often Edited Using Burroughs' Writing Technique "the Cut-Up Method." Raised In Nashville TN In The Southern Part Of The United States Rosemary Haskins Grew Up With Music Being The Focal Point Of Her Life. She Began Playing In Various Rock Bands At The Young Age Of 13. Though She Played In A Couple Of Projects In High School It Wasn’t Until College That She Would Really Strive To Leave Her Mark. It Was At This Time That Rosemary Began Playing With Several Bands On The Nashville Based Indie Label Black Label Empire. Touring Nationally With Some Of These Projects She Found That The Darkness Of The Clubs And The Darkness Of The Traveling Nights Soothed Her. From Then On There Was No Turning Back Music Was The Drive From Which To Live. In 2004 Rosemary Wrote And Released Her First Project “The Fabulous Life Of… ” The Predecessor To Her Indie/pop/rock Single “the Floater.” Following The Release Of “The Fab Life…” Rosemary Began Trying Her Hand At Writing And Producing Other Projects. 2007 Saw The Birth Of WaterWorks Entertainment A Nashville Based Recording Studio And Publishing Company Opened By Rosemary And Fellow “Fab Life” Collaborator Patrick Himes. It Was At WaterWorks Entertainment That Rosemary First Recorded Leslie Keffer The “queen Of Noise.” Leslie’s Unique Approach To Unconventional Music Intrigued Rosemary. It Was Unlike Any Project She Had Ever Worked On. Soon After Came Work On Legendary Stooges Sax Player Steve MacKay’s Solo Record TBR . His Blend Of Jazz-Fusion Opened Yet Another Outlet For Rosemary. Always A Fan Of Horror Films And Their Soundtracks Rosemary Began Listening To Composers Such As Jerry Goldsmith Ennio Morricone Wojiech Kilar And Jocelyn Pook. These Great Composers Influenced Her To Search Out Other Like-Minded Dark And Brooding Composers. The Most Crucial Influence For Waked Lunch Would Prove To Be The Discovery Of Angelo Badalamenti. An Instant Fan His Works Would Later Lead Rosemary To The Extravagant World Of David Lynch And His Music And Films. Rosemary Has Contributed To Numerous Indie Film Soundtracks In The Horror Genre Commercials And Documentaries.
