ZeroGravity Has Got Its Roots In The Belgian Melodic Metal/Rock Band Shadowdance. Founding Members Pieter Belmans Marc Beckers And Dirk Vollon Decided To Form A New Outfit To Play Some More Progressive Stuff Influenced By Bands Like Dream Theater Pain Of Salvation Fates Warning And Many Others. So In October 2001 ZeroGravity Was Born. Trying To Find The Right People That Shared The Same Musical Ideas And Ambitions To Complete The Line-Up Was Quite A Problem At Start. Several People Applied For The Keyboard And Vocal Duties But Weren't Found Suitable. Suddenly Out Of Nothing A Guy Who Was Eager To Join A Progressive Outfit Contacted The Band. After A Couple Of Rehearsals He Turned Out To Be The Right Man For The Job. So Johan Vingerhoed Came Into The Picture To Play The Keyboards. After Some Months Of Intense Rehearsing The Band Entered “Dé Studio” In April 2003 To Record Four Songs Resulting In The Synchronicity Demo. Guest Vocals Were Done By Dorien Heyligen And Santiago Janssens . The Demo Got An Overall Positive Response And Great Reviews. In August 2003 The Band Decided To Part With Johan And Recruited A New Guitar Player In The Person Of Alex Vanhaesendonck. Marc Combined Guitars And Keyboards And New Songs Were Written. Although At First The Band Decided To Head In A Less Keyboards Kind Of Direction It Turned Out That Keyboards Still Were A Main Instrument In The New ZG Sound. In November 2003 Sven Dupon Joined The Band On Vocals. Finally The Right Guy Behind The Mike Was Found. In April And May 2004 The First Live Concerts Were Played But The Band Decided That The Time Was Right To Record Some New Songs With The New Line Up. They Concentrated On Writing And Re-Arranging 4 To 5 Tunes. Besides His Vocal Duties Sven Also Turned To Guitar Creating New Possibilities In Songwriting And Soundscaping. In April 2005 “Dé Studio” Was Booked Again And In Only 5 Days 4 New Songs Were Recorded PassagesSubsideLost In TransitionRevelation The New Demo Passages Was Released In July 2005 And Received Positive Reviews. The Band Did Several Live Shows In 2005 And 2006 With A Highlight At The Progpower Festival In Baarlo NL As First Unsigned Belgian Band Ever. In 2007 Zero Gravity Hit The Stage Again And Started To Develop A Steady Live Reputation. In June 2007 Pieter Injured His Knee And Had To Undergo Some Surgery. The Band Was Forced To Cancel All Gigs In July & August. No Time Was Wasted However. The Band Switched To Songwriting Mode For A Couple Of Months.
