the band started out in austria about 1995 or so. dtch initially consisted of 3 people, Christoph Oehlknecht, Armin Walland and Hannes Ziegerhofer and began like most bands as a garageband with a few small gigs but there were no ambitions to do something professional for the first few years. in 2000 the band started recording material for the first album "Things In Front Of Other Things" [TIOOT]. armin and stoff did the musical work, recording, engineering and mastering and hannes came up with the lyrics. the singer's name on TIOOT was zoe. the first album "Things In Front Of Other Things" was released in december 2001. a second album was recorded but was never finished it to the lack of a singer. also energy seemed to have gotten lost so the band decided to stop the project and eventually continue it an 200 years or whenever they felt like it. the band decided to make the second album available, although it is not finished. the multitrack recordings are still around and as we all know, hope dies last ^^
