"The Fresh Princes is a 4-person band from Huntington, New York. Its core members are Travis Lee and Mike Lobasso on guitar, Chris Lavery on keyboard, and Justin Ray-Keeffe playing bass. The dissonant sound created by the guitar parts of early songs such as Pogsnatcher and The Wharf suggests Sonic Youth or My Bloody Valentine as an influence, but the use of both no drummer, and a steady, simplistic Casio CTK-401 drum beat, along with dynamic preset backgrounds, controlled feedback and carnival-like keyboard parts give the group a unique sound, intended to allow listeners normally opposed to such dissonance to enjoy the genre in The Fresh Princes have pioneered. There are over twenty members of the band really, but no original songs have yet been distributed with anyone but the 4 core members playing. Along with creating dissonant carnival "post doom-core" music, or noise, the group composes and performs a single rap arrangement known as Benevolence: An Epic Rap. The Fresh Princes have been spotted enhancing their sound using, along with an effects board: screwdriver shafts, parking meters, spy ears, electronic screwdrivers, paint, and much, much more.
