The german musician Thomas Rath offers on his basically single-handed produced new CD “Hypenotics” a variety of Ambient, Fusion, Funk and Jazz. Calm, smooth soundscapes change to impulsive, groovy - partial even Zappa-like - compositions. Thomas Rath works as a live- and studio drummer with all kinds of different artists and is always keen on making new musical experiences. In the past few years he had been playing with: Jocco Abendroth, The Crackers, Laith Al-Deen, Alannah Myles, Pat Appleton (De Phazz), Rick Washington (The Eagles), Annette Marquard, Alexandros Karosaz, The Frankfurt City Blues Band and the Jazz Fusion Band Vibes. He also drummed on different soundtracks (Neverending story, Britta, affairs…) and had been touring with Xavier Naidoo in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 2006. He also played his part in various theatre- and ballet-productions and works with different philharmonic orchestras. Besides this he does solo performances, offers drumworkshops and continuously works on new compositions.
