Mécanosphère is a trans-national ( France-Portugal-USA-UK-…) and transonic morphing line-up group music / art project initiated in 2003 and headquartered in Portugal.Infamous for its cathartic live actions and for its hypnagogic, mixed-technique, " debased" and crossover records. Multiple drumsets and recycled machines and voice and live manipulated sonics collide in a feast of bass & percussion-heavy music made of ruins of hip hop, chaos rock, jazz trash blasts, musique concrète, collage art, cargo cultist conjurations, phantom dub and trans-spectral drone transmissions. The Current line-up of Mécanosphère features british vocalist Mark Stewart ( The Maffia / On-U-Sound) and the current process-work of the collective / upcoming album, side-projects in and outside of music, textual mapping and archive, near-future concerts and intermedia interventions / revolves explicitally around the notions of Spectrality, Remanence of the Occult and of the haunting phantoms in the context of hypertechnology.
