Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Russian Federation Чолбон (Cholbon in transliteration) is a psychedelic/progressive rock band from Sakha Republic (Yakutia), formed in the late 80-s in a small Yakutian village Namtsy. Their name means “the star that appears before dawn”, “the morning star” in Yakutian (referring actually to the planet Venus). The band sings in Yakutian and their music is considered mystic/shamanistic influences. Their music combines both classical prog-rock and ethnic elements.
