Cara McPhillips has been captivating her audience with a unique style of indie/folk/pop. Her sound laces pure and gritty vocals over an emotive guitar style, creating some of the most beautiful and honest songs heard over recent times. born in Newcastle Australia the songwriter was quick to enter the live music scene,playing solo and in a duet with folk singer lyndon savio, after a strong reception from her home town,Cara moved to sydney where she met Producer Paul strousser and in septmeber 2009 she independently released her debute EP "waking Ryhmes", Cara's unique emotive style, proceeded to attract media attention, and in November 2009 Cara moved to London UK,where she met now producer Glen Skinner, months later her LP is set to release later this year. Glen and Cara transformed her folk/pop style into something that has been described as organic electro, a beautiful intrinsic mix of guitar and synth portraying a sublime new style of pop/elctro/folk. In an interview with music Internet site whispering rogue ( set up by earlier producer Paul strousser) cara said that her main influences ranged from the likes of bon iver, to sia. the yeah yeah yeah's the melodic charms of jeff buckly and the writing style of death cab for cutie.
