Newheaven is an Alternative/progressive rock band from Cholula, Puebla Mexico, formed by Arturo Gómez, voice and rythm guitar, Eduardo Millot lead guitar, Alvaro Benitez in drums and Alejandro Santre in the bass guitar. Starting as a post-punk band, Newheaven was crafting its unique sound going through some massive changes in their music construction, from post-punk, hard rock, post-rock to alternative, grunge, progressive and even metal, Newheaven finally came to the conclusion their music could be quite diverse and would definitely enter in the alternative/progressive sound definition. The band members came with different inspirations but mostly progressive such as Led zeppelin, King crimson, Uriah's Heep, Porcupine tree and trying to match this prog sound to the heavy sound of hard rock, grunge and heavy metal with clear inspirations from Black Sabbath, Blue cheer, Rush, Nirvana, Opeth and others.
