Formed in Shropshire, UK in 2011 Oaken Lee is a new project from Jake Flowers also featuring Will Gauden on bass and live backing vocals. The Man I’ll Be EP was recorded over a couple of weeks in a 500 year old attic in Shropshire. It was made using only two microphones, three guitars, a bass, a single drum and a tambourine. In the past, under his own name Jake Flowers has received radio airplay on stations including BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music and regional and commercial stations including Kerrang!, XFM, Smooth, Q Radio, Beacon Radio, BBC WM, BBC Shropshire, BBC Scotland... Jake’s past supports have included shows with Mumford and Sons, Stornoway, Slow Club, LAU, The Handsome Family and countless others while festival appearances have included Glastonbury, T in the Park, Green Man, Summer Sundae, Tramlines, Secret Garden and The Fence Collective’s Homegame Festival. In June 2011, Oaken Lee played their first live show at a sold-out Midlands show (supporting Scott Matthews). Oaken Lee will be performing across the UK throughout the Summer and Autumn of 2011.
