The Stans are a rock trio from Ottawa, Canada. Their main influences are the Arctic Monkeys and Rage Against the Machine. The idea of starting a band came about when Rick and Paul got together one day on valentines day and showed their "skills" on guitar at Rick's place. They then decided to start a band with another of their friends (who lasted one jam). Jon schultz (drums) joined the band about a week later and then came the quest for the singer. After 4 years of testing singers, this rock trio finally decided to just do it themselves and finally end up calling themselves The Stans sometime in 2007. Since the beginning, these guys have played parties, won the battle of the bands at their high school, played at the National Arts Centre, Mavericks, Dekcuf, Zaphod, been interviewed on Rogers television and Tag Radio and more.
