Tiny Cities is J. Alexander Beyer and John William McCormick, Jr., multi-instrumentalists based in and around Philadelphia, PA. Beyer's study in Western Classical (baroque and Spanish) and Appalachian Folk have helped shaped his unique and growing style. Mac has played in the area with numerous projects, including NJ-based band Break Away. The debut EP, Matter & Light, is a short collection of songs that have existed in various recorded forms for some time. It brings together songs inspired by southern trees, the mortality and weakness in familial bonds, and a Japanese death haiku. Granted, it seems fairly disparate, but there is still something there that unites them all. The group is planning its first full-length recording for 2013.
