Woodfangs was born one dreary evening on the full moon of April in 2010. The bastard lovechild of an inbred Appalachian hillbilly and an albino werewolf, Woodfangs has been honing in its brand of southern psychedelia for the past year. Their first release, the homemade demo “Doobies and Pizza” shows a young band with lots of potential, yet lots to learn. And learn they have: their eponymous EP was released on April 26th . The Woodfangs EP, was recorded at Chase Park Transductions and engineered by Futurebirds’ Thomas Johnson and shows a band that has matured immensely the past year. Spiraling guitars, soaring viola, manic vocals, and ethereal synths give Woodfangs their authentic sound which has drawn comparisons to the Flaming Lips, The Rollings Stones, and the Velvet Underground.
