"Said the spider to the fly, how do you wish to die?" Alexia Ashford is the second product of the Code: Veronica project initiated by Alexander Ashford, and is the culmination of his attempt to revive Veronica Ashford, the family's Matriarch. She is also the twin sister of Alfred Ashford, and creator or the T-Veronica virus. During "Resident Evil Code: Veronica", Alexia show to the players that she's also a very talented singer, when she sings Berceuse to her dying brother, Alfred. The song topped in charts all around the world, including the Billboard Hot 100 chart for twenty consecutive weeks. Conception and Early Life Alexia was born in 1971, following an artificial insemnation into a surrogate mother. She was created by using Veronica's intelligence gene, isolated and extracted from her preserved mummified body located in the Ashford Mansion in Rockfort Island, Europe, implanted into an egg by Alexander, who then fertilized this egg with his own genetics. Before he implanted the gene, Alexander manipulated the base element for intelligence, pushing it to its maximum. The end result was hoped to be the revival of their Matriarch. Suprisingly, from this experiment, namely the Code: Veronica project, two twins were born, Alfred and Alexia Ashford. This was however not uncommon in the Ashford family, as twins were born with Alexia's great grandfather, the twins Sir Arthur and Sir Thomas Ashford. From a very early age, Alexia had unsurpassed intelligence that could easily classify her as a genius. On July 27, 1981, at the age of 10 years old, Alexia graduated from a prestigious university with the honor of being valedictorian; Umbrella then offered her a position of Head Researcher at the South Pole Research Facility situated in the Umbrella Antarctic Base, sparking a fierce unspoken rivalry between her and William Birkin, who'd previously been the youngest researcher for Umbrella. Discovery of T-Veronica During her research, Alexia discovered the remains of an ancient virus in the genetics of a Queen Ant. Following this, Alexia dedicated most of her research into ants, whose ecosystem seemed ideal as she began harvesting plans of world domination; she believed a Queen's domination of the anthill reflected on her and the rest of the world. It was then that Alexia created the T-Veronica Virus, by implanting the Queen Ant's gene, along with the virus the gene contained, into the Progenitor virus. She then tested the T-Veronica virus on Alexander, and noted how it caused a rapid change in his cells and caused a serious decay of his brain cells and body flesh. She needed a way to control this virus to achieve her goal. In order to do so, she cryogenically froze herself for 15 years in order to allow her body to adapt to and learn to co-exist with the virus, leaving her twin brother Alfred to guard her chamber. Awakening Alexia was re-awakened 15 years later, right before her brother Alfred breathed his last. As she had learned to co-exist with T-Veronica, she was still sentient and without mutation. With Alfred now dead, Alexia sought to kill anyone that stood in her way as she proceeded with her plans of world domination with T-Veronica. Alexia attacked the snow mobile used by Claire Redfield and Steve Burnside, preventing their escape and preparing to use them as test subjects with her new, improved T-Alexia strain, taken straight from her now refined blood. While Claire was saved by Chris Redfield, Steve fell victim to Alexia's plot and was transformed into a gruesome monster. Shortly thereafter, Alexia was confronted by Albert Wesker who sought a sample of T-Veronica (and thus, T-Alexia) from Alexia's body. Alexia mutated, combusting into flames, and attacked Albert Wesker. Despite the almost even match between the two, Wesker opted to use Chris as bait against Alexia in order to weaken her. While Alexia was defeated by Chris, she stood up once more. Finally, Alexia cornered the Redfield siblings, and directly entered combat with Chris Redfield, who managed to persevere through her numerous mutations. Finally, Alexia was defeated by the use of the Linear Launcher developed by Umbrella. LONG LIVE THE QUEEN! Alexia Ashford, the true bitch queen, forever!
