Priscilla Marie Love (born 8 October 1964), professionally known as CeCe Winans, is an American gospel singer and one of the most awarded and best-selling female gospel artists of all time. She has received 18 Grammy Awards, 36 GMA Dove Awards, 28 Stellar Awards, 7 NAACP Image Awards, and 6 Billboard Music Awards, among other honors. She is an inaugural inductee into the Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame in Atlanta and has stars on both the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Music City Walk of Fame in Nashville. Winans has sold 19 million records certified by the RIAA. Winans was born in Detroit to Delores and David Winans of the Winans Family gospel group. She is one of ten children and sang her first solo at the age of eight. She first gained recognition in the 1980s as a member of the gospel duo BeBe & CeCe Winans with her brother BeBe Winans. The duo achieved crossover success with nine Gold and Platinum recordings, beginning with their 1984 album "Lord Lift Us Up" and including "BeBe & CeCe Winans". Their album "Different Lifestyles" was the first gospel album by artists in the genre to sell more than one million units after Aretha Franklin's "Amazing Grace". Winans launched her solo career in 1995 with the album "Alone in His Presence", which became one of the few gospel albums to sell over a million units. The album earned her a Grammy Award and two Dove Awards, including Female Vocalist of the Year. Her subsequent albums included "Everlasting Love" (1998), featuring the singles "Well Alright" and "Slippin", and the Christmas album "His Gift" (1998). In 1999, she founded the label PureSprings Gospel and released "Alabaster Box". She followed with the self-titled album "CeCe Winans" in 2001, which included the singles "Anybody Wanna Pray" and "Say A Prayer". Winans continued releasing albums and touring throughout the 2000s. The 2003 album "Throne Room" was accompanied by a concert tour and DVD release. Her seventh album, "Purified" (2005), featured contributions from her nephew Mario Winans, her son Alvin III, and her sisters Angie and Debbie Winans. Notable singles include "Count On Me", a duet with Whitney Houston from the "Waiting to Exhale" soundtrack. Her eighth album, "Thy Kingdom Come", was released in 2008, followed by a BeBe & CeCe reunion album, "Still" (2009). Winans served as a judge on BET’s gospel competition "Sunday Best" from 2012 to 2014 alongside her brother BeBe. Her tenth studio album, "Let Them Fall in Love" (2017), won two Grammy Awards. In 2021, she released her first live worship album, "Believe for It", which won three additional Grammys in 2022. On 14 September 2022, she released the single "Goodness of God". On 26 April 2024, Winans released her second live album, "More Than This", which reached number one on the Billboard Top Gospel Album and Top Christian Album charts. The album’s single "That's My King" reached number one on the Hot Gospel charts and the 1 Gospel Streaming Song chart. "More Than This" won Best Gospel Album at the 67th Grammy Awards in 2025, and "That's My King" won Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song at the same ceremony.
