Lanterns Awake (formerly Lantern's Awake) was initially a solo doom metal project founded by Alexandre Julien in early 2010 (though the name had been used for a song as early as 2008). After releasing two obscure demos in the summer of 2010, the project evolved into a post-metal/atmospheric sludge band throughout the fall and winter of 2010. After a great deal of line-up changes, the band broke up in early 2011 without releasing anything.
