Tunacola is composer Ricardo Luna's most ambitious musical project, representing his most pop-oriented, expansive, and personal side. With over a decade of experience and four albums released, Tunacola has established itself as one of the most unique and versatile projects on the Latin American independent scene, boasting solid experience performing on stages in Chile and abroad. Their catalog seamlessly blends hip hop, electro, disco, funk, ambient, electro-ballads, and video game music, always maintaining a distinct sonic identity. Synthesizers, nostalgia, and a particular melodic sensibility coexist with sharp, direct, and at times poetic lyrics that address—tangentially or head-on—themes such as love, drugs, politics, hedonism, dreams, and the emotional experience of living in a particular era. It all began with Tunacola (2011), an energetic and carefree debut recorded as a trio with Paz Court and DJ Caso. This was followed by Todos los Veranos del Mundo (2014), which marked a shift towards a more ambitious conceptual approach. In En el Centro de la Fiesta Está el Vacío… (2018), the focus became more introspective and personal, with narrative and profound lyrics, without losing its danceable rhythm. Luna's other active projects are hip hop duo Chomba Boom, electronic solo act Yoyoyo, and experimental ambient trío The Keith Harings. In 2020, Richi founded Apapachame Records, a label focused on pop and Latin American electronica.
