Tai Orathai is one of Thailand’s A-list Luk Thung and Mor Lam vocalists, renowned for her emotional delivery and consistency across three decades. She is signed under Grammy Gold / GMM Music and holds an exceptional industry record as the only Female Luk Thung artist from the label to sell over one million physical copies for three consecutive albums. Tai began her journey in 2000 with an independently produced underground album, created and funded by herself and her manager. Sold only around her hometown, the project unexpectedly gained strong local recognition. This caught the attention of Kroo Sala, a highly respected Grammy Gold producer and songwriter, who invited her to audition for the label. After passing the audition and entering the trainee program, she released her major-label debut in late 2002 “Dok Yah Nai Pah Poon”. Its first two singles became a phenomenon nationwide, pushing the album to surpass one million copies in a remarkably short time. In 2004, Tai released her second album “Kor Jai Gun Now”, which spawned several signature hits including “Gin Khao Rue Yang” and “Dao Ten Mor Ton,” once again achieving million-copy sales. Later that year, as a thank-you to fans, she released the special album “Yoo Nai Jai Samer”, which also crossed the million-copy mark. This historic streak made Tai the only female Luk Thung artist in the label’s history with three million-selling albums in a row. Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, Tai continued releasing albums almost annually, each era delivering new hits and earning her numerous “Song of the Year” recognitions. She has long been celebrated as one of Thailand’s most beloved and enduring Luk Thung vocalists. In 2017, as Thailand fully entered the streaming era, physical album sales began fading and success shifted toward YouTube viewership. Tai’s 11th album, “Fak Phrung Nee Wai Gub Ai,” adapted seamlessly to the new landscape, producing her first 100-million-view single and reaffirming her relevance across generations. A major turning point arrived in 2018 when Tai starred in her first TV drama, “Dao Jaras Fah,” on One31. The show became a rating success, leading to continuous acting opportunities. In 2024, she earned her first acting award, Best Leading Actress at the Nataraja Awards for her role in “Dang Thoranee”, solidifying her status as both a respected singer and actress. Today, Tai Orathai remains an active artist under Grammy Gold/GMM Music, consistently releasing well-received albums and singles and continuing her acting career. Outside of entertainment, she also operates a resort business in Nakhon Nayok. With hit songs in nearly every era and acclaim spanning music, drama, and public recognition, Tai Orathai stands as one of the most influential and enduring figures in modern Thai Luk Thung music.
