OCEAN (also called SEVENTH OCEAN) is a band from Belarus, that first started out in the late 1980's. Alexander Eletsky (keyboards, vocals) was the driving artistic force of the band, and for their debut album "One Life", released in 1989, he was joined by Gennady Kalaurkin (guitar, vocals) , Igor Mihasev (drums, vocals) and Vitaly Gaponenko (bass, vocals). The same line-up recorded and released sophomore effort "Black Holes" the following year. The band then immediately starts working on their third album. Igor Mihasev weren't able to participate this time around though, and was temporarily replaced by Alexander Sofiks (drums) for the recording of "Son of the Sun", also released in 1990. 1991 saw Igor Mihasev return to the band, and next in line for 7 OCEAN was the concept album, "Find Echo". Tragic circumstances intervened though, with the death of Igor Mihhasev on July 17th 1994. This leads to the band breaking up, unable to finish their planned creation without their close friend and band mate present. 10 years later Alexander Eletsky and Alexander Sofiks decides to rebuild 7 OCEAN, and joined by Sergei Starosotsky (vocals, bass, percussion) this new trio starts rehearsing and composing. In 2005 they start recording, and 3 years later the finished CD, "The Mysterious Race of Strange Entities", is released by Russian record label MALS.
