Derrick Thomas was born in a small town in upstate New York called Oakfield. He has lived in such cities as Boston, Buffalo and NYC and rarely plays with a band although he is not against it. His music has been used by Hewlett Packard, IBM and Cisco computer companies. Derrick Thomas is currently an independent artist working with Vagabond Records. His influences run from Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Black Keys, The Band, Kings of Leon, Andrew Bird and Ray Lamontagne
