Exmoura is a hybrid of several genre's of music anywhere from Gothic to Progressive to Experimental to Shoegaze. Formed in 2009 by John Isaac the debut release unleashed a dark gothic/doom filled dirge of menacing songs that go into My Dying Bride territory but the releases that followed went more and more experimental even avante garde. Ranging anywhere from Jesu,Anathema,Porcupine Tree,Snow Patrol, to bands like Blue Sky Black Death,OSI and even The Cure Exmoura has varied it's sound album by album....instrumentals,electronic music,acoustic,to even heavy metal, basically you can find something for everyone on any given release ! John Isaac was born in the South Bronx section of New York City and played in 1980's cult Death Metal band Arsenic which has a compilation of it's early lo-fi demos available as "Seeds of Darkness" released through Baphomet Records in 2008. Arsenic was formed in 1984 and although only reaching cult status it was a big part of the tape trading scene of underground metal.
