Galilee is now a soon-to-be five piece. They are still a ministry-based band that uses their music, lyrics, and live performances in order to try to share their love of God with others. After the recent loss of their original drummer, one of the founding members, Jarrett Connick, they have begun to write an album. Galilee is now a soon-to-be five piece. They are still a ministry-based band that uses their music, lyrics, and live performances in order to try to share their love of God with others. After the recent loss of their original drummer, one of the founding members, Jarrett Connick, they have begun to write an album. For now, Ethan Petry (vocals), and John Everhart (vocals) are doing drum tracking/programming and Steve Livengood and Bobby Gassett are writing the guitar parts. They are transitioning away from "an experimental heavy kind of feel to a more refined, technically progressive, and even heavier sound". For this endeavor they are looking more towards bands of the same caliber as Into The Moat, The Red Chord, Between The Buried And Me, and combining those ideas with that of more "ambient and ethereal sections reminiscent of Sigur Ros or Explosions in the Sky". The result, they hope, will be one far different from past compositions, and until their album is complete, they have all agreed to abstain from performing. There is talk of a winter tour, and a release some time in mid to late winter. Galilee played their last show in November of 2008. Steve and Jarrett are now in a band called Missions. Bob is now in For I Desire Mercy. John ended up in Shotgun Saints & the Man on Fire. Ethan is doing guest vocals for various bands.
