Rockurd was formed as the first Kurdish rock band in Mahabad in 2001. “Far Away City”, band’s first album with an introspective point of view combining Alternative rock and Space rock elements was recorded in 2003 at Rockurd’s private studio. It is worth noting that all our attempts in order to get the license of Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Iran back those days was totally inconclusive. In 2006 to 2007, Rockurd put some tracks as Sides-B in its official website.

In 2012 with a brand new different view of society the second album called “Lunatic” was recorded at Rockurd’s private studio, the mix and mastering process was done in the Avenger studio. ”Lunatic” is a lot different in both content and style view from the first album. Concerns have become more social-minded and arrangements are more different since group working has become more coherent in recent years.
